National Pharmacy Week

The National Pharmacy Week was celebrated with great enthusiasm and professional spirit on 19th November 2025 at IQ City Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Durgapur. The event aimed to create awareness about the crucial role of pharmacists in healthcare and to inspire students to uphold professional ethics and dedication toward patient care. The program began at 2:00 PM with the inauguration ceremony and ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing enlightenment and knowledge at Atreyee Hall, 4th Floor, Annex Building. The event formally commenced with an opening song performed by Aiswarya Bhattacharya and Shagufta Naz, 1st year B. Pharm students, setting a vibrant and welcoming tone for the occasion. The felicitation ceremony followed, where distinguished guests including Dr. B. Camala, Principal of IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences and Dr. Raghunath Mishra, Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine, IQ City Medical College, were honoured and invited to share their insights with students. The cultural segment commenced at 3:00 PM with a musical performance by Mrinal Kanti Supakar and Samiran Mishra, 1st year, B. Pharm students. This was followed by an informative speech by Dr. Suddhasattya Dey, highlighting the evolving scope of pharmacy practice Students showcased their artistic talents through a series of performances, including a dance by Anushka Konar (1st year, B. Pharm), a recitation by Arkapriya Khan (1st year, B. Pharm), a song by Aiswarya Bhattacharya and Shagufta Naz(1st year, B.Pharm students), a dance by Sohini Dutta(1st year, B.Pharm), and a musical performance by Samiran Mishra (1st year B.Pharm). At 4:00 PM, academic competitions such as the Elocution Competition and Handmade Poster Competition were conducted simultaneously, encouraging students to express their knowledge, creativity, and awareness of pharmaceutical topics. The celebration concluded successfully with appreciation extended to the organizers, faculty members, guests, and students for their enthusiastic participation. The program effectively combined academic learning with cultural engagement, reinforcing the significance of pharmacy as a noble profession dedicated to public health and patient welfare.
