Celebration of Paschimbanga Divas 2026

IQ City Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Durgapur, celebrated Paschimbanga Divas 2026 with great enthusiasm and cultural pride on 20th June 2026 in Atreya Hall. The event aimed to commemorate the rich heritage, history, literature, art, and cultural diversity of the state of West Bengal while fostering a sense of unity and patriotism among students and faculty members.

The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a welcome address. The Principal, Dr. Bonagiri Chandra Shekar, delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the historical significance of Paschimbanga Divas. He emphasized the remarkable contributions of West Bengal in the fields of education, science, literature, art, culture, and social reform. He encouraged students to uphold the state's rich cultural legacy and actively contribute to the development of society through knowledge, innovation, and ethical values.

The celebration was further enriched by informative presentations delivered by faculty members, who discussed the history, cultural heritage, notable personalities, traditions, and achievements of West Bengal. Their presentations provided valuable insights into the state's glorious past and its continued contribution to the nation's progress.

Students enthusiastically participated in various cultural programmes, showcasing their talents through songs, dances, recitations, and other cultural performances that reflected the vibrant traditions and artistic excellence of West Bengal. Their performances captivated the audience and added color and enthusiasm to the celebration.

A Poster Presentation Competition was also organized as part of the event. Students prepared creative and informative posters depicting the history, culture, festivals, heritage sites, famous personalities, and socio-economic development of West Bengal. The poster exhibition demonstrated the students' creativity, research skills, and appreciation of the state's rich legacy.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, faculty members, organizing committee, and students for their active participation and wholehearted support. The celebration of Paschimbanga Divas 2026 successfully strengthened cultural awareness, encouraged student participation, and instilled pride in the heritage and traditions of West Bengal among all participants.
