A Report on World Health Day celebrated on 7th April 2025

World Health Day is celebrated world wide on the 7th April of every year to increase awareness of illnesses and different issues, the value of preventative care, and the importance of maintaining good health as a primary goal. Each year this day draws attention to a specific health topic of concern to people all over the world. This year the day is being celebrated under the theme of "Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures," emphasizing how crucial it is for mothers' and babies' health to serve as the cornerstone of wholesome families and communities, ultimately ensuring bright futures for all of us. The faculty, staff and students of IQ City Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IQIPS) celebrated the World Health Day on 7th April 2025 successfully by organising a health camp in Jemua Jagrata Sangha and Pathagar club near Jemua Village. The program began with the gathering of all the staff, faculty and students in the ground floor of the Annex building of IQIPS. All the faculty, staff members of IQIPS, doctors from community medicine department, Dr. Indradeep Ganguly, Dr. Swarnava Sarkar, Dr. Neerja Shastri, Principal Medical college, Dr. Gunadhar Maiti, Hospital Superintended and Dr. Niloy Sarkar, Dean Academics were present for the program. The program started with the flag off by Dr. Neerja Shastri madam which marks the beginning of the journey of all the members of IQIPS to the venue of the health camp by bus from the campus of IQIPS. After reaching the camp site the camp started with the registration of the patients, followed by checking of height, weight, BMI calculation, blood pressure, pulse rate and fasting blood sugar. The patients were also checked thoroughly by the doctor’s present in the camp followed by prescribing medicine for different ailments. The patients were also given free medicine like multi vitamin, paracetamol, iron and folic acid tablets, vitamin B complex tablets. The students gather a practical experience of serving patients, checking different parameters. The students also present handmade poster and educate the patients about different problems and parameters. The camp started from 10:20am and ended at around 1:00pm with the total patient count of around 42. The students enthusiastically participated in the camp making it successful.   The program ended with the felicitation of the Gram Panchayet Pradhan Madam Mrs. Saptasati Sen by Principal, Prof. Dr. Shyamshree S.S. Manna and Prof. Dr. Suddhasattya Dey with memento and uttoriyo and by expressing gratitude for her unconditional support throughout the program and also the felicitation of the doctors, Dr. Indradeep Ganguly and Dr. Swarnava Sarkar by Pradhan Madam Mrs. Saptasati Sen by giving mento and expressing gratitude for their support.
