Surgeon Commodore (Retd) Dr GD Maiti, graduated MBBS from CNMC, Kolkata
and post-graduation MD (Obst & Gyn) from prestigious AFMC, Pune and
subsequent training in Adv Gynae Laparoscope & WHO Fellowship from premiere
institutes Army Hospital R&R Delhi Cantt and PGIMER Chandigarh respectively.
An experienced Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology since 2012, he is Teacher
with versatile surgical skill and more than 32 years of clinical and 21 years of
teaching and administrative experience at various Armed Forces Premiere
tertiary care teaching Hospitals under MOD, Govt. of India. Having an Illustrious
Career in Armed Forces Medical Services with profound clinical knowledge, skill
and experience both in profession and administration in the field of Maternal &
Child health with rich expertise of establishing advanced facilities in OPD,
Inpatient and Operation Room facilities including establishment of advanced
Gynae laparoscopy, ART-IVF and Gynae Onco Centre.
He is a passionate Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with vast magnitude of
clinical experience with thousands of vaginal deliveries with proportional
operative delivery, conventional as well Advanced Gyn Laparoscopy/Endoscopy &
Min invasive procedures, reconstructive & cosmetic pelvic surgery,
Urogynecology, Gynae Onco Surgery.
Versatile administrator with consistent achievement of success in planning and
operational fields of Health Care Services, with policy development and staff
management.
Teacher and Examiner both in UG, PG and DNBE curriculum, a keen Clinical
Researcher, reputed Medical Educationist with more than 23 research
publications in both National/ International journals, research projects, authored
chapters in various medical books in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
For his professional excellence, devotion to duty and distinguished service in the
Armed Forces he was awarded with FOC in C commendation in Aug 2004 and Chief
of Naval Staff (CNS) Commendation in Aug 2016.
