The Ophthalmology Department boasts advanced facilities to do absolute examination, diagnosis as well as treatment of each ocular disease, encountered in paediatric patients and adults. The team of experienced surgeons performs various eye surgeries for Phacoemulsification (along with implantation of rigid, bifocal, intraocular, foldable lenses for cataract patients belonging to different age groups), retinal as well as squint. The Department conducts weekly cataract screening for the needy. The Department has state-of-the-art fitness equipment for ophthalmic care.

OPD Services
  • OPD between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In-Patient Services
  • Patient admitted OPD through are examined in OPD itself by Faculty in charge. Interns are supposed to check vision and conduct minor procedures like sac syringing and tonometry under a supervision of students.
  • Admitted patients get IPD file made. Beds are allotted by sister in charge of the ward. Case sheet is written by senior residents and treatment initiated under the guidance of faculty.
  • Daily routine rounds are taken in the morning by residents and faculty and evening rounds by Interns.
  • Eye Banking and corneal transplant services

Outreach Activities

EYE Camps
  • We are conducting camps at peripheral areas of Durgapur, thereby reaching to the poorest blind population. Our eye team visits RHTC frequently.
  • These camps are conducted as a part of multi-diagnostic camps.
